It seems as if size is an issue that has gripped the western world, and there are so many contradictory opinions given on what sizes are plus sizes and what sizes mean too thin. Plus sizes are one aspect of this spectrum. I think that what equates to a plus size is when you have a noticeable amount of excess fat.

Using the example of women, it is not necessarily a specific size of plus size women’s clothing eg 16, 18 which means that someone is a plus size. This is because people have different bone structures and therefore can naturally not be any lower than a certain size. Therefore, a plus size is where excess fat is affecting the mobility of a person. At the other end of this spectrum are people who are too thin. It’s also true that shirts can come in different sizes, so in one shop a shirt can be size 16 and in another shop it will be size 18.

In my opinion, people who are too thin are people who have no muscles, and the bones are the most prominent thing. People who have no muscle, and are literally too thin are people who have starved themselves/over-exercised so that bodily functions use up the muscle on the body, and exposes their bones much more prominently. Plus sizes are above the natural size of a person-someone who eats the right number of calories, each day, and people who are too thin are below the natural size of a person.
